The pieces utilize a certain layered busyness consisting of both sharp automatic action and gradated blends contrasted with an expansive spatial awareness. Form and line interact and contort as physical consequence creates surface tension and movement.

 

These essential qualities speak to the process of creating and to relationships; interpersonal and universal.

 

I am currently working in combination with a variety of inks, encaustic wax, powdered pigments, abaca fibers and oils on lexan, hand made papers and wood. I find these mediums give an intriguing combination of both control and loss of control. Going with them allows me to explore and develop a universe.
